Alliance Institute Hosts Listening Session with Center for American Progress on Gulf Coast Disaster Initiatives
Alliance Institute hosted a listening session for the Center for American Progress (CAP)*, a Washington D.C. think tank that is currently working on policy recommendations for the Obama administration. Organizations that participated in the roundtable included Alliance for Affordable Energy, Deep South Center for Environmental Health, Gulf Restoration Network, and PolicyLink. The topic was Economic Development and the conversation was informative, engaging, and productive.
CAP was in town as part of a region wide tour, pulled together by Alliance Institute, Gulf Coast Fund, Oxfam America and PolicyLink. The purpose was to discuss the issues, concerns and solutions to the BP oil drilling disaster from Gulf Coast communities especially as they relate to the administration’s energy and climate change initiatives.
