On April 24, 2013, Alliance Institute partnered with the Isaiah Institute of New Orleans to present a workshop on Community Organizing. The workshop was a part of the 2013 Louisiana Housing Alliance’s Annual State Housing conference.
The workshop covered community organizing from the aspects of institutional (specifically faith-based) and grassroots models. In addition to discussing the differences and similarities between the models, the workshop covered how the various models can be bought together for greater impact.
In discussing the bringing together of the models of organizing, a particular focus, and considerable time, was spent discussing the need and methodologies of coalition building.
